GROW Fellow (Graduate Orientation Week) 2021, 2020

I worked to support the graduate division at UC Merced with contributions related to GROW. I assisted in an designing an online course for the incoming graduate cohort, that consist modules of diversity orientation, research and economic development orientation, teaching assistant (TA) orientation, sexual harassment and prevention training, catcourses skills and outreach.

Being the president and founding member of this club in UC Merced, my team and me were successfully at gathering 50+ active memberships.  We plan and execute cultural events like Holi (Festival of colors), Diwali (Festival of Light) and Garba (Annual dance event) for all undergrads, grads, faculty and staff.  We host freshers events for incoming students. Previously, I made airport pick-ups for incoming students. My team and I have successfully secured 2000$ + funding from various campus resources. Through the club connections, we now organize student lunches, panel discussions, mentorship meet ups and other events which in turn creates a family away from family experience to all our members.  It has been an immense learning experience in leadership roles and mentorship.

Women in STEm 2017 – 2019

I also contested and won the elections for Women in STEM (W-STEM) group in UC Merced campus. I was the graduate vice president for 2.5 years. I oversaw planning and organizing most of the W-STEM events on campus.  I served as a mentor to two undergraduate women in biology and successfully reviewed and helped them edit their graduate school applications.

I taught consecutive workshops on ‘Introductory Biology’ to high school students from the California central valley region in the previous SPLASH conferences at UC Merced.
